The CUBISYSTEM Floating Pontoon at the Heart of the Olympic Flame Relay in Pont-Audemer
On July 6, 2024, Pont-Audemer had the honor of welcoming the Olympic flame—a significant event for the city as part of the relay leading to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This unique occasion allowed residents and visitors to experience an unforgettable moment, particularly thanks to the installation of a floating pontoon that added a spectacular dimension to the event.
Installation of Our Floating Pontoon System for the Event

For this historic occasion, several infrastructures were specifically designed and installed. A floating pontoon in an L-shape, measuring 6.12 m x 6.12 m with a width of 2.04 m, was deployed to accommodate four electric boats used by the organizing committee and for the passage of the Olympic flame. This floating pontoon was engineered to ensure both stability and safety, allowing the flame to travel up the river toward the town hall.

In parallel, a floating staircase was built using our modular floating pontoons system, facilitating the transition of athletes from the river to the town hall parking area. This staircase, standing 3.60 m tall with a total length of 13.60 m, was designed to blend seamlessly into the environment while ensuring optimal accessibility. It was installed in just three days, composed of over 500 HDX cubis, each layer firmly secured using our patented long connection screws, ensuring perfect stability and safety.
The floating pontoon was installed and anchored by the Cubisystem team, and the towing of the platform on the river was carried out in collaboration with municipal technicians and the local sailing school.
